Since 2022, electric rates have increased by nearly sixty percent. That number would be even higher if residents had not pushed back and demanded accountability. This is on top of rate hikes for stormwater and other city fees.

This is unacceptable at a time when families are choosing between medication and paying their power bill. Just a few years ago, our rates were in the middle of the pack. Today, we lead it.

That is not responsible leadership.

My commitment is simple. The pattern of annual rate hikes by multiple percentage points ends here. Every dollar collected from residents must be justified. Every expense must be transparent. Every decision must reflect the reality families are living in.
